Festivals in August come in abundance, and there are many of them to celebrate with your family. Here are some Indian festivals that bless us in the eighth month of the year. The Raksha Bandhan or Rakhi festival holds a lot of importance in India and among Hindus across the world. The festival celebrates the eternal love between brother and sister. One of the most important festivals in Hinduism, Krishna Janmashtami or Janmashtami, celebrates the birth of the famous Hindu God Lord Krishna. Another festival of August is Rishi Panchami Vrat. Rishi Panchami is celebrated on the fifth lunar day of Shukla Paksha (Waxing Moon Fortnight) in the month of Bhadrapada, as per the Hindu calendar.
