1. Birth of Shri Ram, Bharat and Lakshman, Shatrughan

One year after the end of Putreshti Yagya, Lord Shri Ram was born on the ninth day of Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month. On this day there was Punarvasu Nakshatra. The Lord was born in Cancer ascendant, when planets like Moon, Sun, Mars, Venus and Saturn along with Jupiter were exalted. Whereas his younger brother Bharat was born in Pushya Nakshatra with Pisces ascendant. Whereas twins Lakshman and Shatrughan were born in Ashlesha Nakshatra with Cancer ascendant. After 11 days of birth, the naming ceremony of the children was performed. Very pleased Guru Vashishtha named Kaushalya’s son as Ram, Kaikeyi’s son as Bharat, Sumitra’s one son as Lakshman and the other as Shatrughna. All these children had radiance on their faces like Purvabhadrapada and Uttarabhadrapada stars.

2. Marriage of Lord Ram and His Brothers

The marriage of Lord Rama and his brothers took place in Uttara Phalguni Nakshatra. According to Ramayana, before the marriage, King Janak says to sage Vashishtha and Vishwamitra: – “Soon there will be Uttara Phalguni Nakshatra. मखा ह्यद्य महाबाहो तृतीये दिवसे प्रभो।
फल्गुन्यामुत्तरे राजंस्तस्मिन्वैवाहिकं कुरु।।1.71.24।।
रामलक्ष्मणयो राजन् दानं कार्यं सुखोदयम् ।।

3. Coronation of Lord Ram

The Muhurta of Pushya Nakshatra was fixed for the coronation of Lord Rama. The meaning of the verse of Ramayana here is something like this, about the coronation of Shri Ram. 4. Seeing the Stars in the Dream of King Dasharatha

After the announcement of Sri Rama’s coronation, Dasharatha gave an omen to Sri Rama, describing the position of his stars, planets. They say O Ram! I have a nightmare. राजा हि मृत्युमाप्नोति घोरां वाऽऽपदमृच्छति।।2.4.19।।
तद्यावदेव मे चेतो न विमुह्यति राघव।
तावदेवाभिषिञ्चस्व चला हि प्राणिनां मतिः।।2.4.20।।

5. Description of Muhurta by Jatayu

According to Valmiki Ramayana, the bird king Jatayu says to Lord Rama, Ravana has taken your wife Sita in Vinda Muhurta. A person who steals something from another person during this Muhurta is neither able to keep it with himself nor consume it. That thing returns to its owner. Ravana did not think of this while abducting Sita. He will be destroyed like a fish caught on a hook, so don’t worry Shri Ram.

येन याति मुहूर्तेन सीतामादाय रावणः।
विप्रणष्टं धनं क्षिप्रं तत्स्वामी प्रतिपद्यते।।3.68.12।।
विन्दो नाम मुहूर्तोऽयं स च काकुत्स्थ नाबुधत्।

According to Valmiki Ramayana he says, “O Sugriva, now the sun is in the mid-sky and the Muhurta is Vijaya, so let us start our journey now. Today is Uttara Phalguni Nakshatra and tomorrow there will be Hasta Nakshatra. Let us move forward with the monkey army together.”

उत्तरा फल्गुनी ह्यद्य श्वस्तु हस्तेन योक्ष्यते ।
अभिप्रायाम सुग्रीव सर्वानीकसमावृताः ।।6.4.5।।
