Will India shine in Summer Olympics 2008 – Beijing?

Introduction:
In this season of sports when every country is preparing with full energy and zeal for the Summer Olympics 2008, India, with more than a billion population is all set to show its talent to the world. Unlike the last Olympic games, India is expecting to grab greater number of medals this year. The coach of the Indian Triathlon Fenderation (ITF), Brett Mace has also expressed confidence of India winning a medal in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Does India stand a chance of winning a medal in Olympics 2008? Will the performers be able to give the victory smile during this year?

India is currently under the influence of Venus Mahadasha and Ketu Bhukti. Ketu is placed with Moon in the Navmansa chart. Moon is the Lord of the 3rd house(house of enterprise) in Indian chart. These planetary positions are not good indications for India. It may lessen the fighting spirit of Indian players. Ketu’s Antradasha is the Chidra Dasha as well. So it may increase the negative influence. So primarily the Indian squad does not have much planetary support on their side.

The transiting Mars will enter Virgo on August 10, 2008 which is the 5th house in Indian chart and the 3rd house from Moon. This might boost the morale of the Indian players. Transiting Sun will be moving in Leo(4th house) from August 17, 2008 approaching Saturn which may not provide much support. So the overall scenario from Indian country chart is not so encouraging. In this context the individual charts of Indian players will play an important role.

Planetary influences will be favorable for Indian players on August 12, 16, 17, 19, 23 and 24, 2008. We can expect some surprises and good individual performance on those days and that might fetch one or two medals for India.

Medal Hopefuls for India in Olympics:
Transiting Mars and Jupiter are favorable for Jitender Kumar. So he may perform well. Transiting Jupiter is moving favorably for Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore but transiting Rahu may create problems for him. He might not live up to his standards but is still capable of giving a good fight. Yogeshwar Dutt looks in good shape and can be a dark horse for India. Vijender Kumar is also under positive planetary influence and is very much able to produce miracles. Jupiter is moving favourbly for Samresh Jung and Manavjit Singh giving hopes for medal. Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi may face challenges but are very much in race for a medal.
