Right now the UPA is in the firing line from several quarters for myriad reasons – corruption, lakhs of crores of black money stashed away in foreign countries, even the PM coming under the attack for allocation of coal blocks in an improper way, the stuck Lokpal and controversy surrounding it, spiralling prices, the dipping rupee, the even more alarmingly dipping growth rate of the nation, monetary agencies from across the world downgrading the country as an investment destination, charges of policy paralysis, electoral losses in several states, and demands for a mid-term poll growing louder and louder.Indeed, rarely has a government been so inundated in crises on all fronts. It is a wonder that the government is still surviving, which in part may be because the major opposition party BJP is itself wobbling on its feet with infighting, power struggles within the party, and corruption charges against several of its leaders.
The nation goes to general elections in the year 2013. Will this shaky government be able to hold its fort till then? With Aana Hazare and Baba Ramdev sitting for a yet another anti-corruption hunger strike, and the nation going berserk over insane fuel price hikes, the picture looks grim. In the Hindu new year chart, Virgo Ascendant is in Paap kartari yoga and the Lord of Ascendant is retrograde and debilitated in the 7th House. So, both Ascendant and its Lord are afflicted and weak.Ascendant signifies people of the country, the general condition of the country and also the Home Ministry of the country. Saturn is currently passing through Virgo and Mars will enter Virgo on 22nd June, 2012. The conjunction of Saturn and Mars in Virgo could ignite discontent in the people in general. Saturn will be stationary between 25th June and 29th June, 2012, which could bring the most malefic impact. So the period till mid-August looks very sensitive for the UPA government. The conjunction of Jupiter-Venus- Ketu is not favourable for the country,because it indicates financial crisis. Chitra Nakshatra’s affliction by Saturn and Mars indicates shocking and dramatic events in the Southern states of India and also in Jammu & Kashmir. Mars is the Lord of the 8th House of new year chart conjunct transiting Saturn, which does not augur well for India and the UPA government. The conjunction of 6th and 8th House Lords will rock the country by scandals, black money, corruption, financial mess, territorial attacks and labour unions strikes. In short, the UPA government will have to face challenges on various fronts. India will be under the influence of Sun-Saturn Dasha from 11th July 2012. Also, the 12th Lord of new year chart Sun in the 7th House and the 8th Lord Mars in the 12th House indicate that foreign-based terrorist groups will be more active during 2012. There will also be growing threat from neighbouring countries like China and Pakistan. So there could be immense pressure on UPA government during 2012. There could be major conflicts in the cabinet and significant reshuffle in the cabinet is also possible. The Home Ministry, Finance Ministry and the Prime Minister could face serious problems till 17th November, 2012. Scorpio was rising at the time of Shri Manmohan Singh’s coronation. The transiting Rahu is moving in the Ascendant currently and it will conjunct the Ascendant point around November,2012. Also, Saturn’s period will begin from 12th November, 2012 in the oath-taking chart. As the Ascendant Lord Marsis Vargottma, the UPA government may complete it’s tenure. However,there will be big changes in the cabinet of the UPA government between 12th October, 2012 and 3rd February, 2013 and some new leaders will replace the old stalwarts.
