Vishwakarma Jayanti is celebrated on 16th or 17th September every year or the last day of Bhaadra month according to the North India Hindu calendar as the birthday of seventh Dhramaputra of Brahma. On this day Lord Surya travels from Leo to Virgo zodiac sign.

The festival is celebrated in Tripura, Uttarpradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Karnataka, Assam, and West Bengal. It is also known as Kanya Sankranti or Bhaadra Sankranti, and in the year 2024 Vishwakarma Jayanti falls on 16th September.
