Martin Scorsese wins Oscar for – The Departed

Martin Scorsese won the Academy Award for Best Director for his film “The Departed” , which also won the Academy Award for Best Picture as well at the 79th Academy Awards in 2007.

Scorsese was born in Leo Ascendant and the Lord of Ascendant Sun situated in the 4th house with Venus. As we know, the 5th house signifies discrimination and intelligence. It shows our capability to make clear logical distinctions and discriminate between truth and fiction. This quality is well developed in the mind of Scorsese- largely due to Jupiter. Notice how Jupiter is strong in his chart by being exalted and Vargottama as well. This shows his judicious and sharp intellect and also reveals his great interest in philosophy and we can see that the Roman Catholic religion is important in his movies.

The truth is that when a planet is combust, it harms the external significations but not the internal qualities of the planet. Venus combust, on the other hand, has increased his creativity and artistic ability enormously. But we all know that his married life has never been successful as he got married 5 times.

Venus is involved in the various Raja Yogas as well. Venus the Lord of 10th house (house of Karma) is placed in the 4th house with Ascendant Lord Sun and also exchanges signs with Mars. Venus is in trine with the 5th house- Lord Jupiter which is also of a great significance. It clearly indicates wonderful success in show business, arts and entertainment.

He is currently under the influence of Venus-Jupiter-Mercury period and transiting Jupiter is moving over the natal Sun and Venus aspecting the 10th house suggesting owner and accomplishment of goal.
