Hanuman and Sindoor – Legend

Once Hanuman saw Sita applying sindoor to her forehead. He asked her what purpose it served. To this, Sita replied that it was for the well being and long life of Lord Rama. One must offer sindoor to the idol of Lord Hanuman with the mantra:
“Aum Shree Ramdut Hanumate Namah: Gandham Samarpayami”

Then while offering flower one should chant:
“Aum Shree Ramdut Hanumate Namah: Pushpam Samarpyami”

After this one must offer dhoop and chant:
“Aum Shree Ramdut Hanumate Namah: Dhoopam Agrapayami”

Light the lamp and chant:
“Aum Shree Ramdut Hanumate Namah: Deepam Darshayami”

At the end one should offer Gud laddus to the Lord and chant:
“Aum Shree Ramdut Hanumate Namah: Naivaidyam Nivedayami”

Chanting the above mantras with dedication will please Hanuman. One should also recite the Hanuman Chalisa to make Hanuman happy.
