A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon comes in between the Sun and the Earth, and when viewed from the Earth, the Sun is viewed as fully or partially covered. As the energy of the Sun is responsible for the existence of life on earth, solar eclipse has, for years, been viewed with dread, as the Sun seems to disappear from the sky at the time of the eclipse. The first Solar Eclipse of 2011 is a partial eclipse, and is taking place on 4^th January 2011 in Purvashadha Constellation, ruled by Venus.
