By the way, Shravan, Bhadrapada, Ashwin, Aghan, Magha, Phalgun, Baisakh and Jyeshtha months are considered especially auspicious for organising the Bhagavata Purana katha. But according to scholars, any day when you start Bhagwat Katha is the most auspicious day.

Shrimad Bhagwat Katha should be organized at a holy place only. By the way, the special importance of getting the Bhagwat Katha done in one’s own birth land has been recommended. Besides, organizing Shrimad Bhagwat Katha at places of pilgrimage is also considered particularly fruitful. Although there is no special rule regarding the place of the Bhagwat Katha, still if you want to earn more virtue, then you should organize it at a pilgrimage place. So that more and more religious followers can get the benefit of the story. At the same time, according to Sanatan Dharma, you should recite the Puranas at a place where your mind gets peace. Once you have chosen the place for holding the Bhagwat story, then first of all, coat the ground with cow dung. Put a mandapa and a dome-shaped canopy over it and put a flag of Hanuman ji and a seven knotted bamboo for the Pitras to sit on.

The Rules Of Bhagwat Katha

The speaker of the Bhagwat Katha should be a scholar, a scholar of the scriptures, a devotee of the gods, good natured and sweet-spoken. The speaker who narrates the Bhagwat should have complete knowledge of the scriptures and the Vedas. Once the Bhagwat Katha begins, both the Brahmin and the hosts must observe a fast for seven days. If there is no other problem, then eat only one meal at a time.

Lord Narayan should be worshiped by worshiping Ganesh, Navagraha, Yogini, Kshetrapal, Batuk, Tulsi, Vishnu, Shankar, etc. On the days of Katha, the listener and the speaker should not shave, eat junk food, etc. They should observe celibacy during the period of Bhagwat Katha, adopting sattvik food, should show pure and non-violent conduct. If possible, onion, garlic, meat-alcohol and smoking should be avoided during the Katha phase.
