What is Sinus?
Sinus is a medical condition caused by inflammation of the moist mucus that builds up in the nose. It is caused due to infection in the nose and this infection is due to microbial, allergic or autoimmune response of the body. Infection can be of two types, first acute and second chronic type. Initial symptoms may include nasal congestion, pain around the head, or heaviness in the head. These symptoms usually disappear without medical treatment. But in serious condition, there is a need to take medicine.
Patients and people with low immunity are more likely to get this infection. The mucus made by the sinuses flushes out infectious germs. Due to which your sinuses become inflamed, this further increases the secretion of mucus. How can you treat your Sinuses?
In the traditional way of treating sinus, doctors thin the nasal lining to reduce swelling and clear the blockage. Corticosteroids are the drug most commonly used for non-microbial sinus.

Sinus patients should avoid foods that create an imbalance in Prana Vata and Shleshak Kapha. Avoid hot spices, peppers, ice cream or carbonated drinks. Eat food which helps in digestion. Use organic food food more. Avoid fruits or vegetables that increase mucus secretion, such as bananas, tomatoes, or eggplants.

Whenever you return from outside, wash your hands and feet properly to avoid ingesting any infectious germs.
