A great beginning may not translate to a greater end for South Africa in 2015 ICC CWC, feels Ganesha.

South AfricaThe 2015 CWC team for South Africa is led by captain and wicket-keeper AB de Villiers. Till date, the Proteas have performed well in the initial games of the World Cup. Yet, they have always lost the match in the knock-out stages. Earlier, in 1992, the South Africans were knocked out in the Semi-finals, due to an astonishing rain rule. Whereas in 1999, they missed their maiden final by just one run, due to Alan Donald’s hasty running. They also lost the Quarter finals in 1996, owing to Brian Lara’s grand performance. Again in 2011, they were unexpectedly defeated by New Zealand in a Quarter final match. Recently, the Proteas Captain, AB de Villiers scored the fastest ever ODI century and half-century. He slammed his ton in just 31 deliveries, against West Indies at the Wanderers, Johannesburg. The other South African cricketers: Quinton de Kock (wicket-keeper), Kyle Abbott (bowler), Hashim Amla (batsman), Farhaan Behardien (batsman), JP Duminy (all-rounder), Faf du Plessis (all-rounder), David Miller (batsman), Morne Morkel (bowler), Wayne Parnell (bowler), Aaron Phangiso (bowler), Vernon Philander (all-rounder), Rilee Rossouw (batsman), Dale Steyn (bowler) and Imran Tahir (bowler) are also in good form. Hence, can we hope for a better outcome for the South African team in the CWC 2015? Ganesha looks at the starry picture at the time of the coveted tournament to predict.
The Cricket World tournament will begin with Moon in Scorpio Sign and in Jyestha Nakshatra, which is going to be favourable for South Africa. In the initial stages of the sporting extravaganza, the transiting Sun in Aquarius Sign too will support South Africa. However, in the later stages of the event, the transiting Sun’s movement through Pisces may not augur well for the South African team. The ongoing long term planetary configurations i.e. the transiting Rahu in Virgo and the retrograde movement of Jupiter in Cancer, though, will remain favourable for South Africa’s World Cup ambitions. But, toawrds the fag end of the tournament, the retrograde Saturn (from 15th March onwards) may cause major issues for the good team.
Stars Speak for CWC
Basis the planetary calculations, Ganesha notes that the team South Africa may perform quite well in the Group matches. So, there may be no issues for them in reaching Quarter-finals. Also, they will have enough planetary support during the Quarter-finals. So, the chances of tea, South Africa reaching Semi-finals are also quite bright. But, the strong South African team looks set to face major problems at the Semi-finals stage. The Final match day, though, is aligned to be favourable for them. So, if they reach the Finals, South Africa can be a real threat to any team standing against it on that day.
Ganesha’s Verdict (for CWC)
South Africa is likely to reach the Semi-finals. But, it will be difficult for them to reach the Finals, and claim the World Cup.
