Will the Cong-Trinamool alliance oust Left from West Bengal?
![]() Politicians make strange bedfellows to come in power. This couldn't be more true than in the case of the recent alliance in West Bengal between arch rivals Trinamool Congress, led by the fiery Mamata Banerjee, and the state Congress party headed by Pranab Mukherjee. Their motto: To rout the decades-old Left rule out of the state and put an end to their despotic regime. It was only 12 years ago that a rebuffed Mamta was expelled from the AICC. Angered and offended, the hot-headed leader had marched ahead and formed her own party Trinamool Congress. Contrary to everyone's belief that Mamata's party would wallow in the margins of political activity in West Bengal, Trinamool has today emerged as a force to reckon with, so much so that even Congress chief Sonia Gandhi has had to accede to Mamata didi's request. Now, at the threshold of the 15th Lok Sabha elections beginning April 16, 2009, a meek Congress agreed to play second fiddle to Trinamool by joining hands with Mamata on March 12 and deciding to give her party a whopping 28 of the total 42 seats. On it part, the Congress will contest only from the remaining 14 seats. How hit will this alliance be? Will the combine force of Mamata-Pranab dismantle CPI(M)'s fortress? In the first of a series of special articles on Election-2009, Ganesha predicts whether the Congress-Trinamool tie-up will rewrite Bengal's political history or fail to cause even a stir. Astrological analysis of composite chart AICC(I)-Trinamool Congress
On polling dates, the transiting Sun trine MC and Sun, and transiting Mars conjunct Jupiter will help them immensely. And, in the second phase of polling, the transiting Jupiter sextile MC and Sun may boost their morale and the alliance may even do better. Transiting Saturn and Rahu may also act in their favour. Prediction Considering all the above factors, Ganesha feels that the Congress(I) and Trinamool Congress alliance in West Bengal may succeed and get remarkable results in this general elections. The alliance will receive the blessings of the electorate and this will certainly reflect in the results. This tie-up definitely looks like a bad omen for the ruling CPI(M) government and may prove a real threat to the Communist regime in West Bengal.
