Who will win Lok Sabha Elections 2009?
The preparations began long time back. The blame game, mud-slinging, and finger-pointing... even before that. General elections in India - one of the world's biggest and most baffling democracies - is a virtual circus that takes place every five years and amazes everyone with its myriad tricks.
While the die has been cast with the first phase of the Lok Sabha polls already over, the month-long pitched political battle will throw up the name of the next king...or queen of the Parliament. Both the Congress and the BJP, apart from the Third Front and other parties, will woo their voters with assurances, announcement of populist measures and tall promises... in short, anything so long as either of them can form the next government. In this light, Ganesha casts the first vote by predicting the future of the two major political parties in fray - Congress and the BJP. Congress (I)'s Horoscope Congress(I) will be under the influence of Rahu-Mars-Moon period during the elections. Mars, though debilitated, is placed in its own sign in Navmansa chart and becomes strong as the Lord of 9th House of fortune.  Moon, the Lord of the 5th House, and placed in the 7th House, becomes strong in Navmansa. But transiting Ketu over natal Moon, passing through the 8th House from the 10th house as well as Sun, may create tough conditions. Transiting Jupiter, though debilitated, is aspecting Mars, which may help their cause. It indicates total chaos at a time when the country's government will be formed. Venus, Lord of the 10th House, is strong in the Hindu new year chart, which indicates that women in Indian politics will call the shots while a new government is being formed. Ganesha feels that powerful women leaders like Sonia Gandhi, Jayalalitha, Mamata Banerjee and Mayawati will decide the contours of the next government after poll results are out. Prediction Congress will be under the influence of Jupiter Mahadasha at the time of government formation. Jupiter, placed in the 4th House and aspecting the 10th House, is favourable for the party. Considering all the factors, Ganesha predicts that Congress will have an upper hand in the Lok Sabha elections and may emerge as the single largest party. BJP may perform better than they did in 2004, and may retain their seats with some addition to their tally. Also, the difference of seats between the two major parties will be very marginal. Ganesha can see India heading towards one more coalition government, and Congress will have to seek help from many regional parties to come in power.
