Regaining lost glory unlikely for Windies this World Cup, feels Ganesha.
Two time world champs, once the strongest team of the world that ruled the world cricket in both formats for over two decades and an indomitable power with one of the most impressive batting line-up, the team West Indies really has a glorious past. But then it is, well, history, for the team has failed to impress the spectators and cricket enthusiasts in the last few years. Barring the team's good form and commendable performance in World T20 championship in the year 2009 and a hat trick by Jerome Taylor in 2006, they have had a precious little to say in their favour in the last decade. The consecutive winners of the first two World Cup Trophies, Windies saw their dream of securing a hat-trick here crumbling to pieces, when a heady team India walked away with the elusive trophy in 1983. But then, with the glorious players like Gary Sobers, Brian Lara, Sir Viv Richard, George Headley and more on its list, Caribbean boys have always toiled hard to establish, foster and play this game of eleven men. They with their rich cricketing history have lent their valuable contribution in giving the mighty status, it enjoys today, to the game of cricket.

Led by a young and modest Darren Sammy and aptly backed by veterans like Chris Gayle, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Shivnarine Chandrapaul, the team West Indies, this time, looks a force to reckon with. Confident and raring-to-go, Windies may give a tough battle to their opponents. As they warm up to survive this competitive battle called the World Cup, will they be able to make it to the final stage of the game? Ganesha finds out with the help of Vedic Astrology.

West Indies Team will have favourable transit of Mars during this tournament. However, the transiting Sun, retrograde Saturn and Rahu may cause few problems for them. They may experience a shaky start to the tournament, and may face tremendous resistance from weaker teams. Their match against Bangladesh will have a significant impact on their fortune, and also on the tournament as a whole. Their match against England shall also be crucial. However, they will see better times post 19th March, and that may raise their chances of entering the Quarter-Finals. The period between 20th March and 25th March looks slightly better for them. If they meet Australia in the first Quarter-Final or Sri Lanka in the second Quarter-Final, they shall prove quite challenging for their opponents. They may not have much planetary support during the Semi-Finals, though. But, if they play against Pakistan in the first Semi-Final, Windies will stand a good chance to qualify for the Finals. They may not have much planetary support on the Final day of the match. So, it would be very difficult for them to lay their hands on the winning trophy and regain their lost glory.
