Look forward to a good all-round performance by John Davison, says Ganesha
Perhaps the most distinguished Canadian cricketer, although 40 now, all-rounder John Davison will be the player the youngsters in his team will look up to for inspiration. The right-arm spinner and hard-hitting batsman is best remembered for his whirlwind knock of 111 (100 off 67 balls) against West Indies in the 2003 World Cup. He followed this up with the third-fastest World Cup fifty against New Zealand, making most runs and taking most wickets for Canada in the tournament. He was appointed Canada's captain in 2004 and the following year, in a first-class match, he created history by clinching match figures of 17 for 137, and scoring 84 as Canada beat USA by 104 runs in the Intercontinental Cup. He shone in the 2007 World Cup too, scoring a bristling 52 from 31 balls against New Zealand.

Ganesha, with the help of Vedic astrology, tries to find out whether he can come up with more memorable performances in the upcoming World Cup.

Born with exalted Sun, John Davison is a very promising player. Retrograde Mercury aspected by retrograde Jupiter bestows on him the trick to spin the ball. As he was born with Mars and Venus in Taurus, John is a wonderful batsman because Mars in earth sign gives strength. While Mars transits through Aquarius during the World Cup, it will form a Square with his Natal Mars placed in Rohini constellation. Ganesha feels that this is why he will perform well in the World Cup and display an all-round performance.

We wish him good luck and may Lord Ganesha bless him.

Ganesha's Grace,
Bhavesh N. Pattni
