Ganesha says Maya's jaal will spread far and wide

While she frowns at alliances being forged and broken, and believes that her party will attain poll victory in the Lok Sabha elections without any outside support, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo and Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati has been a pioneer of alliance politics herself, albeit of a slightly different nature.

She came into prominence in the eighties by flashing the Dalit card and projecting herself as Daliton ki rani, who will battle for the rights of the neglected and the downtrodden. She lambasted against pro-upper caste policies and thereby polarised a large section of minority Hindus. In other words, her first move during her initial political phase was to 'ally' herself with the Dalits' cause.

No doubt, her calculated moves paid rich dividends for the party — since the last few elections, almost two thirds of UP's Dalits have been voting for the BSP.

But, with new ambitions come newer strategies. With an eye on her prime ministerial ambitions, Mayawati has realised she can't rule the nation by rallying against the powerful Brahmin pockets in the country. Her sarvajan samaj concept is thus aimed at appeasing all sections of society, especially as she aspires to become head of a democratic nation.

It's no wonder then that there are 20 Brahmins in BSP's list of candidates that will be fielded from UP to contest the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Will Mayawati's pan-India model work? How far will this Mayajaal spread? Will she call the shots when a new government is formed after the general elections? Ganesha thinks so. Here's why:

Mayawati's Horoscope

Current planetary influences

Mayawati is currently running Saturn-Moon period. Saturn is powerful in both D-9 and D-10 charts. Moon is in its own sign in Navmansa and placed in the Ascendant with the 9th House's Lord Mercury. The Moon-Mercury conjunction is forming an excellent Rajayoga in her chart.

Jupiter transiting through Ascendant may help her to expand her voter base. But transiting Rahu and Saturn may restrict her progress to some extent. The exalted Venus in transit may help the UP chief minister during the polls.

Prediction

According to Ganesha, Mayawati will certainly make her presence felt in the coming months. BSP will expand base in Utter Pradesh as well as in parts of other states. Mayawati's increasing popularity may severely affect the failure or success of other major parties in the fray.
