Ganesha foresees an average World Cup for opener Gautam Gambhir

He has an impressive record of 3680 runs at a healthy average of 40.43, with 9 centuries and 21 half-centuries in the 105 ODIs that he has played. Well, as his name suggests, Gambhir, the southpaw Indian opener, is a serious person ? and a dead serious cricketer. After missing out on the ODIs in the recently-concluded South African series, along with Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag, Gauti, as he is lovingly called, is expected to give the Indians consistently explosive starts during the upcoming World Cup. His magical left-right combination for opening along with Virendra Sehwag is one that generally leaves the opposition bowling attacks baffled. With his solid technique and hard-hitting batting, expectations from the Delhi lad are sky high as India hope to clinch their second World Cup title, after the first one in 1983, long long back. Ganesha uses the Vedic astrology system to find out what is in store for the opener during the upcoming Cricket World Cup.

The most reliable opener of India, Gautam Gambhir will have a good planetary support during the Cricket World Cup in the Indian Sub-Continent. The transiting Sun, Mars, and Jupiter will help him during the first round of the tournament. He is likely to perform well in the first match against Bangladesh and the sixth match against West Indies. We can expect him to make big scores during those matches. In other matches of the first round, he will contribute useful runs, but may not be able to play a big innings. His performance will be average in the quarter-finals and semi-finals, which might frustrate his fans a little. However, if India makes it to the finals, he is likely to bat well and contribute useful runs.

We wish him good luck and may Lord Ganesha bless him.
